Mickey Mouse Beignets Recipe
There is nothing more playful or fun than anything Disney related. We hosted a birthday party last year for my daughter, and we wanted everything to be Mickey and Disney themed. The party was a massive success, and these homemade beignets went over like hotcakes.
When you bite into the crispy crust and get to that soft and delicious center, it’s pretty impossible not to have more. They are seriously one of the best things you are ever going to taste.
TRUST ME! No more contemplating what to make, head-on in the kitchen, and get to work on a batch of these Mickey Mouse Beignets! I promise you won’t regret it, and most likely, you won’t end up with any leftovers either.
We have neighborhood kiddo that is in love with everything Disney related. I decided to surprise him with some freshly made Mickey-shaped beignets, and he was so surprised. Everyone gobbled them up and wanted the recipe. I can’t believe I waited this long to share it with you!
How to Get Mickey Shaped Beignets
The easiest way to get Mickey-shaped beignets is to purchase a Mickey-shaped cookie cutter. They sell tons of them all over Amazon and the internet. Just pick one that you like, and it will work well. Plastic and metal cookie cutters work equally well at shaping the Disney beignets. So, I say find an inexpensive Mickey cookie cutter and be on your way to making this incredible dessert.
Best Oil To Fry Beignets In
To get the very best flavor and texture, I recommend using canola oil. It’s perfection every time, and the beignets turn out lovely. You could swap the canola for any other oil that works better for your diet. Vegetable oil would be a great fit, as well.
Why Do You Let Dough Rest Before Frying
It’s vital to let the dough rise for this Mickey Mouse beignets recipe. If you don’t let the dough rise, you will end up with a hard and dense beignet that’s not worth eating. Allowing the dough time to rise gives you that fluffy and delicious result we all crave.
Storing Leftovers
Keep any leftover Mickey Mouse beignets in an airtight container. Put them in the microwave for 10-15 seconds to warm them up before serving. They are almost as good of leftovers as they are the first time around.
Can I Pre-Make The Batter Ahead of Time
Yes, you can prepare the batter ahead of time and refrigerate it up to 24 hours before baking. It will still rise in the fridge and should give you a fabulous texture as well.
Sometimes when we have a super busy schedule, I will do this ahead of time. It’s great for those early morning beignets or when it’s the holiday season. You can just save the frying for the last minute, and it’s a game-changer.
