Sausage & Hash Brown Balls

Sausage and Hash Brown Balls are the ultimate appetizers to make when you have a crowd of people. They come together so easily and are super tasty! These are the appetizers I love to make for Football Game days. These are the goodies that everyone absolutely loves.

They are so quick, all you need to do is combine eggs, hash browns, and spicy sausage with some bisquick. Roll them into balls and then roll them in dry Bisuick and bake in the oven.

These little balls of joy are tasty but also versatile. They can be made with items that your family likes. They can be made spicier. Sausage and Hash Brown Balls are an appetizer you should make this weekend for the gang. You could also serve these as a dinner or breakfast and it is a complete meal.

What makes these so good?

These little Sausage Hash Brown Balls are a complete breakfast if you wanted to make them for breakfast. This is not a recipe you see much. They are super easy to make and taste great.

How are these versatile?

You could use different flavored Sausage for the Balls. You could add in some finely diced bell pepper. You could add in fresh herbs to increase the flavor profile.

Ingredients:

  • spicy sausage
  • cream cheese
  • Bisquick
  • Cheddar cheese
  • Shredded hash brown potatoes

How to make Sausage and Hash Brown Balls:

Step 1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Step 2. Prep baking pan with nonstick baking spray.

Step 3. Use a mixing bowl with a hook attachment to mix the sausage, cream cheese, 1 ½ cups of Bisquick, cheddar cheese, and hash browns.

Step 4. Roll in 1 ½ inch balls.

Step 5. Roll the balls in the bowl of bisquick.

Step 6. Place on the prepared baking sheet.

Step 7. Bake at 400 degrees for about 18-22 minutes or until golden brown.

Step 8. Serve with a small dipping bowl of maple sausage.

  • 1 lb spicy sausage, uncooked
  • 1 package, 8oz cream cheese
  • 2 C Bisquick, set aside ½ cup in a small bowl
  • 1 ½ C cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 4 C shredded hash brown potatoes, frozen

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Prep baking pan with nonstick baking spray.
  • Use a mixing bowl with a hook attachment to mix the sausage, cream cheese, 1 ½
    cups of Bisquick, cheddar cheese, and hash browns.
  • Roll in 1 ½ inch balls.
  • Roll the balls in the bowl of bisquick.
  • Place on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake at 400 degrees for about 18-22 minutes or until a golden brown.
  • Serve with a small dipping bowl of maple sausage.

Can these be reheated?

They could be reheated in a preheated 350* oven for 5 to 8 minutes or until heated through. You could also heat them in a toaster oven or a microwave until the desired temperature is reached.

How would I store what is left over?

These are easy to store in the refrigerator. Place them into a ziploc bag or another airtight container and place them into the fridge for up to 4 days.

Can I make a double batch and freeze half?

These are perfect for freezing. Once they have cooled completely, place them into a freezer ziploc and then into the freezer for up to 4 months. Thaw in the refrigerator overnight and reheat to enjoy.
