What Type of Apples to Use in Apple Cakes?
What type of apple is best to use in apple cakes? While there are many types of apples you could use, Granny Smith apples are a good option because they are tart and firm. They also have a relatively long shelf life, so they won’t go bad quickly.
Tips for Peeling Apples Quickly
Peeling apples quickly can be a bit of a challenge, but with a few simple tips, you can do it like a pro!
One of the easiest ways to peel an apple is to use a paring knife. Start by cutting off one end of the apple and then cut around the apple, removing the skin.
Another way to peel an apple is to use an apple slicer. This is a handheld tool that peels and cores the apple in one motion. Simply insert the apple into the slicer and twist. The skin will come off easily and the apple will be perfectly cored.
Finally, if you don’t have a paring knife or apple slicer, you can use a vegetable peeler. Start by cutting off one end of the apple and then peel away the skin using short strokes.
