Why Do I Love Apple Fritters?

Apple fritters can turn out soggy for a few reasons. Typically, the frying oil temperature measures below 375 degrees. Using too little flour also causes a problem. Dust flour on top of the apple pie filling before rolling up the dough to prevent the filling from absorbing too much oil.

  • Granulated sugar
  • Baking powder
  • Apple pie spice
  • Pinch of salt
  • Milk
  • Eggs
  • Vanilla extract
  • Apples
  • Melted butter unsalted
  • Oil for frying

How to make Apple Fritters:

Step 1. Place a few inches of oil in a deep-sided skillet or pot over medium-high heat on the stove, and heat the oil to about 350 degrees.

Step 2. In a mixing bowl, combine all of the ingredients except the butter, apple pie spice, and apples. Blend on high until a smooth batter is formed.

Step 3. Add in the butter and blend again to combine.

Step 4. Fold in the apples and apple pie spice until well incorporated.

  • 1 ½ C. Granulated sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. Baking powder
  • 1 tsp. Apple pie spice
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 C. Milk
