Apple Fritter Cake Recipe

Apple Fritters are certainly one of my favorite bakery goods. I find that if I buy more than one, I always end up with a dried-out Fritter. If I only buy one, it is guaranteed that I am going to want more than just one. I decided I had to come up with a recipe that I could use to make my own fritters.

This recipe is very simple to put together and it tastes just like the bakery Apple Fritters.

Why Try This Apple Fritter Cake Recipe

This Apple Fritter Cake recipe is a delicious and easy dessert to make. The combination of moist cake, tender apples, and sweet glaze makes for a truly irresistible treat.

What type of Apple should I use?

There are so many great varieties available! The answer is going to depend on what you prefer. You could also use a combination. The varieties include Braeburn, Granny Smith, Red Delicious, or even Honeycrisp. I would suggest you make a combination of sweet and tart apple bits together.

Should the cake be completely cool before I pour the glaze on?

This decision is up to you. I like to make holes with the tines of a fork and pour the glaze over when the cake is hot. There are many others who prefer to wait until the cake is cooled and then pour the glaze on. The cake is set to the side until the glaze sets and then it is cut into squares and served.

Does the Apple Fritter cake need to be refrigerated?

Personally, I prefer all my desserts refrigerated. So to answer the question, the Apple Fritter Cake will be fine if left on the counter for 24 hours. After the first day, if you still have any remaining, it is best to refrigerate it after covering it tightly.

Can this Apple Fritter Cake be frozen?

I made a double batch and placed one pan in the freezer once it had cooled completely. Be sure to place it in an airtight container or wrap it with plastic wrap and aluminum foil. This will help to prevent freezer burn.

How would I reheat this if I wanted it warm?

The Apple Fritter cake can be heated in the microwave until the desired temperature is reached. This would be for individual portions. You could also preheat the oven to 325*, cover the Apple Fritter Cake with Aluminum foil, and place it in the oven for 10 minutes or so.
