Ingredients:

4 Pork Chops (1 inch thick boneless center loin cut)

1 Large Egg (Whisked)

¼ cup Flour

½ cup Italian Breadcrumbs

2 tbsp Parmesan Cheese

1 tsp Powder (Garlic)

Salt and pepper to taste

1 tbsp Olive Oil

1 can Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup

½ cup Heavy Cream

½ cup White wine

Ingredient Notes and Substitutions

Pork chops: You can try pork steaks and different loin cuts, depending on what’s available at your local supermarket or preferred grocery store. It’s also possible to make this dish with chicken just for the gravy. It’s that good!

Heavy cream: If you don’t have heavy cream on hand or if you’re in need of an alternative, you can try full-fat milk or in some cases, even almond milk (unsweetened).

Italian breadcrumbs: If you’re going for a more low-carb healthy baked pork chops version, consider making your own breadcrumbs from scratch. A low-carb alternative can include panko or pork rind breadcrumbs, depending on your dietary needs and preferences.

Cream of mushroom soup: Swap the cream of mushroom soup for cream of chicken soup. This will change the flavor profile by making it a bit saltier and heartier than cream of mushroom.

White wine: If you do not cook with wine or if you don’t have it available, try swapping the white wine for apple cider vinegar, lemon juice, or even ginger ale for the zesty tangy addition this dish calls for!

How to Make It

Step 1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Prep your baking dish with non-stick baking spray.

Step 2. Add your bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, salt and pepper to a bowl. Mix dry ingredients together first to ensure they’re well-combined.

Step 3. Add your flour to a shallow plate and season the flour with salt and pepper.

Step 4. Add the whisked egg to another small or medium-sized mixing bowl, separated from the dry ingredients.

Step 5. Dry each pork chop with a paper towel.

Step 6. Lightly coat each pork chop in the plated flour.

Step 7. Dip the pork chops in the whisked egg, covering all sides.

Step 8. Cover each pork chop with the bread crumb mixture.

Step 9. Add olive oil to your skillet, heating on medium-high heat.

Step 10. Brown each side of the pork chops for 1 minute per side. Browning the pork adds significant flavor.

Step 11. Bake the pork chops in the oven at 400 degrees for 20 minutes.

Step 12. Whisk soup, milk and white wine together in another small bowl.

Step 13. Pour the mixture over the semi-cooked pork chops.

Step 14. Return the baking dish to the oven and continue to bake for an additional 15 minutes.

Step 15. Remove the baking dish from the oven and allow it to rest for 5 minutes before serving.
