Brownie Bite Ingredients

  • Dark chocolate – Milk chocolate works as well but dark chocolate just makes a better brownie. Try something in the 60-70% dark range.
  • Butter – salted or unsalted will work, you may need to adjust the added salt if using salted butter.
  • Cocoa powder – high quality Dutch processed or alkalized cocoa powder will make the best brownie for sure.
  • Granulated sugar
  • Kosher salt
  • Vanilla extract – real vanilla extract tastes miles better than artificial if you have it!
  • Eggs
  • Flour – all purpose or pastry flour if you are feeling fancy.

Variations to Try

The great thing about brownies is how customizable they are.

Add toppings – Toppings like caramel, marshmallows, whipped cream, chopped nuts, or coconut flakes can make a fun dessert. Provide a whole bunch of toppings and let everyone dress their own as a fun party snack.

Add some crunch – Adding some chopped walnuts, pecans, peanuts, or cashews to the brownie batter can make a nice variation.

Use different chocolate – Not a fan of dark chocolate? No problem, Milk chocolate, white chocolate, and caramel, all make absolutely delicious brownies!

Pro Tips

  • Be very careful when mixing the batter. You do not want to overmix and create a tough brownie. Mix until the ingredients are just incorporated.
  • Allow the eggs and butter to come to room temperature before starting. This will lead to a smoother batter as the ingredient will be easier to mix.
  • Make sure the brownie bites cool for at least 15 minutes! They need time to firm up after coming out of the oven so avoid the temptation to eat them right away.
  • Don’t over bake. It’s hard to tell when the brownies are burning because of the dark chocolate and Dutch cocoa powder. Keep a close eye on them and pull them out as soon as they are done. Its ok the have a gooey slightly “underbaked” brownie.
