Ingredient Notes & Substitutions
- Choose a denser noodle, like a penne if you want more of a substantial meal. It will create more of a bite over the egg noodles.
- If you don’t have cream of chicken soup, you can replace it with another creamed soup, like mushroom or celery.
- You can switch out the frozen veggies for a can of them, but it will reduce the freshness of the recipe. Still, in a pinch, it works just fine.

This is actually a complete meal. However, if you want to serve an additional side, I would go for a dinner salad or a loaf of crusty bread.
Can I use fresh vegetables instead of frozen for this recipe?
Be sure that whichever fresh vegetables you choose are chopped into bite-sized pieces. Fresh works well in this Chicken Noodle Casserole.
Should I cook the egg noodles before adding to the remaining ingredients?
That is not necessary. Just be sure that there is enough liquid in the casserole that the noodles can soak up and cook.
