Gingerbread Fudge Recipe with Vanilla Top Fudge Layer

I love everything about holiday baking! This easily layered gingerbread fudge gets me ready for this season.

I love this easy layer gingerbread fudge not only because it’s delicious but because everybody loves how great it tastes. It has become a tradition in our house to make this holiday fudge every year. We’ve been doing it for years and years, and I figured now was a really good time to finally share this gingerbread fudge recipe with you.

The hardest part about making this incredible gingerbread fudge is waiting for it to set up.

As soon as you start preparing it, you immediately are drawn in by the aroma, and you just began to salivate, waiting to bite into it. Trust me, after you allow it to set up, you will get the best results than if you were to try to sneak a piece of it early.

It’s worth the wait, and I recommend making other candies and cookies while you’re waiting.

Storing Fudge

For best results, keep this holiday fudge at room temperature. There’s no need to refrigerate it because it will age better if it’s kept at room temperature. The most and important thing is to keep it in an airtight container and away from all heat sources. Make sure it is not in direct sunlight.

It’s also essential to keep it away from the steam from your dishwasher and the heat from your stove.

How Long Will It Take Fudge To Set Up

Typically, the fudge will take several hours up to overnight to set up. Most of the time, when I make this homemade gingerbread fudge recipe, I like to make it the day before I want to serve it.

This will give it plenty of time to set up, and we’ll be in the best condition for everybody to do chow down on it.

Can You Freeze Layered Gingerbread Fudge?

Yes, of course! You can easily freeze this layered fudge recipe. You will need to wrap it up in at least two layers of plastic wrap.

This gives it some extra protection to keep it from being freezer burnt. Then after it’s wrapped, it’s best to place it inside of another freezer-safe container or even a freezer-safe bag would work. The fudge will last in the freezer for up to three months. When you’re ready to serve the fudge, you can simply remove it from the freezer and place it on the countertop.

Once it has thawed out, then you can go ahead and eat it. Or for an extra treat, you can still eat it while it’s a little bit frozen. It tastes great either way!
