Are Carrots Better Boiled or Baked?
Carrots are a very versatile vegetable that can be prepared in a number of ways. Baked carrots often have a softness to them that can create a smooth, almost buttery texture that many people simply love. Boiling, however, is often a quicker option when you want to get your carrots on the table quickly.
What Are Glazed Carrots Made Of?
Glazed carrots often consist of fresh carrots, peeled and chopped, or baby carrots. The veggie has often been cooked with some type of sweetener such as brown sugar or honey.
How To Serve Glazed Carrots?
Glazed carrots are often served hot. It is important to keep the carrots warm, especially if you added butter or some other type of fat while cooking.
Cooking Tips:
Be sure that you do not over-sweeten the carrots. Remember, carrots are already a pretty sweet vegetable on their own. Adding just the right amount of sweetness will create a mouth-watering side dish, but too much sweetener will overpower the carrot’s naturally yummy taste.
Variations:
There are a few variations you can try with glazed carrots. The two most common variations are baked glazed carrots, or boiled. You might also want to try cooking glazed carrots underneath a glazed chicken or ham. The naturally occurring broth from the cooked meat adds a great savory taste to this sweet side dish.
