Can I make homemade red icing for the inside of this cake?

I have made this cake with just a plain icing inside the cake layers. If you want to make this cake with a red icing inside of the cake layers that is very easy to do. You will need red food coloring. There are two types of red food coloring. You can use liquid food coloring. This is the type of food color most that not when they think of food color. There is also gel food color. This food color is in a tube and it is a better choice when you are making red icing. To get a bight red icing, you need a lot of food color and the liquid color can make your icing too runny. No matter if you are using the liquid or the gel, once you add the color, you will want to mix the icing in thoroughly.

Tips for Icing Halloween Cake Recipes

You want to make sure you have cut the cake to make it level. Next start with having the cake on a flat surface. Add the icing onto the bottom cake layer. You only need a thin layer and smooth it evenly on the cake. Next, put the next cake layer on and then do the same thing. When you are done with the layers, add the top back on. Add icing to the top. You can add extra icing and as you smooth the top, let the icing start down the sides. Smooth the icing along the sides. This will give you a beautifully iced cake. If you are planning on adding decorations, like the red cookie frosting on the top and sides, this is when you would add it.

How to Store this Vampire Cake

This Vampire cake is a delicious treat. When you make it you are going to want to make sure that it doesn’t go bad prematurely. This cake is too good to waste. You can store this cake at room temperature but it is important that the cake it covered. Using either a cake cover or plastic wrap, cover the cake well. While the cake can be stored in the refrigerator, cakes in the refrigerator tend to dry out faster. If you will not finish this cake before it goes bad, after about 3 days, you can move it to the freezer. This will help your cake last for up to 3 months.
