Why I love Ho Ho Cake?

Ho Ho cake is a classic treat that brings back memories of fun, family, and friendship. Not only is the chocolate cake a decadent sweet treat, but it is also a perfect flavor combination that always hits the spot.

What’s Ho Ho Cake?

A Ho Ho cake is like a candy and a cake all in one. The Swiss-inspired chocolate cake is filled with a fluffy sweet cream filling and covered in a rich chocolate ganache. Enjoy a threesome of flavors and tasty textures in every single bite. One may not be enough.

What can I substitute vinegar with?

If you don’t have any vinegar at all in the pantry, substitute lemon or lime juice. You’ll need to use twice as much juice as the recipe calls for vinegar to get successful results.

Why do they put vinegar in cake?

Vinegar is a secret ingredient in many baked goods like cakes and cupcakes because it produces carbon dioxide and helps the batter rise while baking while keeping it moist and delicious.

How to serve a Ho Ho cake?

A Ho Ho cake is a stand-alone treat but is extra special when served after a meal as dessert. A cup of tea, or coffee, either hot or cold, is the perfect companion. But so is a scoop of your favorite ice cream. Then drizzle chocolate sauce over the top and sprinkle with toasted nuts.

Cooking tips:

It is always beneficial to follow the recipe and carefully measure each ingredient for a successful outcome. Baking is a science and if you omit something or measure incorrectly you may not get the best results.

Variations:

Put your own personal swing on the all-time favorite. Add cocoa powder, raspberry jam, or peanut butter to the filling, make a vanilla cake instead of chocolate cake, or sprinkle the chocolate frosting with crushed nuts or coconut flakes.
