Why I love Parmesan Crusted Asparagus Fries?

Parmesan Crusted Fries are super easy to make, but the best thing is they are crunchy, savory, and delicious. The Parmesan cheese adds just enough salty goodness and the bread crumbs add flavorful depth and a satisfying crunch.

How do you make asparagus crispy not soggy?

The key to making crispy asparagus fries is to blanch the asparagus in boiling water for a few minutes before adding other ingredients. Before baking, make sure each asparagus spear is in a single layer and not touching one another.

How long do I blanch asparagus?

Blanch the asparagus in boiling water for five minutes, remove from the pan, lay on a baking dish and use a clean paper towel to pat completely dry. This process makes the asparagus tender, crispy, and delicious.

How to serve Parmesan Crusted Asparagus Fries?

Parmesan Crusted Asparagus Fries is a delicious side dish for any meal. Serve with steak and potatoes, fried or baked chicken, or your favorite fish recipe. The kids will love asparagus fries with their chicken nuggets and cheeseburgers in the place of regular potato French fries. Serve as a main dish alongside a garden or Ceaser salad.

Parmesan Crusted Asparagus Fries Cooking Tips:

Prepare the asparagus by breaking off the hard ends before blanching. Make sure each spear is totally dry before rolling in the cheese and breadcrumb mixture. Arrange each spear on a baking dish, so they are not touching. This will create crispy, not soggy fries.

Variations:

Instead of the salt, paprika and pepper, use a flavorful seasoned salt like Lawreys that features a tasty blend of ingredients. If you are gluten-free, crushed pork rinds can replace the bread crumbs. Right after removing them from the oven, drizzle with balsamic vinegar and olive oil for an additional layer of flavor

Ingredients:

  • Asparagus spears
  • Seasoning salt and pepper to taste
