Why Make This Philly Cheesesteak Meatloaf Recipe
This recipe is a fun twist on the classic meatloaf, inspired by the flavors of a Philly cheesesteak sandwich. It’s a hearty and flavorful dish that is perfect for a cozy family dinner or a gathering with friends.
The combination of ground beef, onions, peppers, Worcestershire sauce, and provolone cheese makes for a delicious and satisfying meal.
What type of meat should I use?
Using lean Ground Beef is the best option. You can use a combination of Ground Beef and Sausage if you choose to. Just be aware there will be a taste difference, in that it may not taste exactly like a Philly Cheesesteak.
Can I use a cheese other than Provolone?
Provolone is the cheese that is most often used in Philly Cheesesteak Sandwiches. You can switch the cheese to Mozzarella or even Pepper Jack Cheese. This will still give you immense flavor.
Variations:
I like to add chopped green pepper, onion, and mushrooms. This gives me the classic taste of what I recall as a Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich.
Ingredients:
- Lean ground beef
- Onion
- Bell pepper
- Olive oil
- Panko crumbs
- Egg
- Salt and pepper
- Minced garlic
