My Evaporated milk did not form peaks, why?
This is often due to using fat-free products, it could also be from the amount of sugar used. You can try to add sugar, use a full-fat cream or beat the eggs for a longer period of time.
How do I get even layers?
Using an offset spatula will help when spreading the topping. The strawberry slices all need to be equal widths. Very seldom do we ever have this cake and the layers perfectly even.
Can I make this ahead of time?
Yes, but rather than placing it in the refrigerator, place it in the freezer after wrapping tightly. The cake can be frozen for a few hours. To serve, thaw it out first.
How do I slice a frozen dessert?
Run the knife under hot water before slicing. This will help get through the layers neatly.
