Parmesan Asiago Garlic Cheese Bread

This easy, cheesy garlic bread is the perfect addition to your next meal. Yesterday I posted a delicious homemade Pasta Bolognese recipe that I made for our Valentine’s Day dinner. In my mind, no pasta dish is complete without a big slice of garlic bread. Usually, I make my favorite garlic bread recipe, but this time I wanted to try something new. I was drawn to this recipe because it has Dijon mustard in the garlic spread. I love the taste of Dijon mustard, but I have never had it in bread before. The results were wonderful… garlicky, cheesy perfection! 🙂 The best part about this recipe is how quickly it comes together. In less than 25 minutes you have a delicious accompaniment to your next pasta dish or soup. This bread is best served piping hot right out of the oven, so make sure you have everything else ready to serve before you pull the bread out of the oven.

Host a dinner, take it to a potluck or give it to a friend that’s having a rough time. It doesn’t matter what the reason is; everyone is going to go wild for this garlic cheese bread. It’s so much better than anything you can pick up from a store that’s pre-packaged. Trust me; you are going to want to include this one in your favorite recipes!

What is the Best Bread for This Garlic Bread?

For the most part, I prefer to use great quality Italian bread that is in the shape of a football. Not only is it great to work with, but the flavor is legit out of this world amazing. You could also use something like a French-style bread. Any type of thick banquette will work, and it’s all up to preference. So try a few options to decide what works best for you.

Do I Need to Use Fresh Parmesan For This?

Yes, if you want the full effect and experience from eating the best garlic bread ever, the only way to go is with fresh Parmesan. It’s always an option to skip a step and buy cheese that’s already been granted, but it’s just not the same. Using a grater and shredded your own Parmesan is so simple, and you won’t believe how incredible it tastes. I can’t wait for you to taste this bread, and once you do, I don’t think you will consider Parmesan that’s not fresh.

Ingredients

Each of the ingredients in this easy Parmesan Asiago garlic cheese bread is equally as important as the others. Make sure to use the best and freshest ingredients, so you get the most amazing results. Fresh ingredients make this bread from plain to excellent in no time!

How to Make Parmesan Asiago Garlic Cheese Bread

If you aren’t licking your lips and drooling while imagining this garlic cheese bread after reading this, I will be shocked. It’s one of my ultimate favorite side dishes because it goes with almost every meal. You can’t go wrong, and it’s easy enough a beginner can make it too.

First Step: Start off by making sure the oven rack is adjusted to the middle position. Then warm up the oven to 500 degrees.

Second Step: While the oven is heating up, begin by toasting the unpeeled garlic cloves in a small skillet over medium-high heat. Be sure to shake the pan occasionally, until fragrant and color of cloves deepens slightly, about 8 minutes. When the garlic is cool enough to handle, take off the skin and mince cloves (you should have about 3 tablespoons). In a small bowl, mash garlic, Asiago cheese, Dijon, butter, Parmesan cheese, and salt using a dinner fork. Continue mixing until the ingredients are thoroughly combined.

Third Step: Slice the bread in half lengthwise with a long serrated knife. Begin to spread cut sides of loaf evenly with garlic butter mixture. Add the pepper and garlic powder to taste. Then add some garnish with additional Asiago and Parmesan cheese if desired. Sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley. Transfer loaf halves, buttered side up, onto baking sheet; bake. Be sure to reverse the position of the baking sheet in the oven from front to back halfway through the baking time Bake until the surface of bread is golden brown and toasted, 8 to 10 minutes. Using a knife cut each half into 2-inch slices; serve immediately. Devour!
