Fudge was always a treat when we were growing up. It was saved for around the Holidays as one of the many cookies and treats that would be made. This recipe for My Mother’s Fudge turns out beautifully every time I make it.
This one is rich and creamy and super easy to make. This has me believing that Mom’s marshmallow fudge just will never be topped by another.

Fudge is a sweet treat that is made with sugar, milk, butter, chocolate, and vanilla. It is smooth, creamy, and chocolatey.

There are hundreds of recipes out there. However, I do have to say that I have tried most of them and the only one that gives consistency in flavor and ease of making is My Mother’s Fudge.
What type of peanut butter is best for this easy fudge recipe?
If you are looking to add peanut butter to a fudge recipe, such as this one, I need to say any type of Peanut Butter you want to add is good. This recipe does not contain peanut butter.
Can I use sweetened condensed milk instead of evaporated milk?
You could substitute the Sweetened Condensed milk for the evaporated milk. The fudge will be a little sweeter than it would be using the evaporated milk. You could also use heavy cream.
How can I keep the fudge fresh?
Be sure to keep the fudge in an airtight container. This recipe for easy fudge will last longer if it is stored in the refrigerator.

- Butter unsalted
- Granulated sugar
- Evaporated milk
- Semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Marshmallow fluff
- Vanilla extract

How to make My Mom’s Fudge:
Step 1. Place the butter, sugar, and milk into a saucepan over high heat on the stove, and bring to a boil, whisking often to combine.
Step 2. Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium and boil for five minutes.
Step 3. Remove the mixture from the heat and whisk in the chocolate chips until melted.
Step 4. Whisk in the marshmallow fluff and vanilla extract.
Step 5. Pour the mixture into a 9×9 baking dish that has been lined with aluminum foil and sprayed with cooking spray.
Step 6. Let sit for several hours in the fridge before slicing to serve.

- 12 oz. Bag semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 7 oz. Marshmallow fluff
- 1 tsp. Vanilla extract

Instructions

Can I double this recipe? If so, what size pan should I use?
The recipe is easily doubled. When you have doubled the ingredients and are ready to pour them into the pan, use a 9×13 pan.
How do you keep fudge from crumbling?
Be sure to use fresh ingredients. Also do not overcook the fudge, it is ready when it begins to pull away from the pan. If it is cooked longer, the fudge will likely be dry and start to crumble. The fudge must also be stored in an airtight container.
