Why I love Crockpot Italian Beef Po’ Boys recipe?
- Easy to make
- Compliments other sides and dishes really well
- Tender and packed with flavor
Do you have to brown a roast before putting it in the crockpot?
No, but I highly recommend that you always do! It has a huge impact on intensifying the flavor of the beef. Just throwing raw beef into a crockpot won’t be as tasty and sensational as it can be.
What is the best thing to put on beef?
If you want a simple version of this, peppers and onions are a great addition to this beef. I highly recommend doing a bit extra by adding provolone cheese and a sauce of your preference on top of the hot, slow-cooked beef. Adding in barbeque sauce or your favorite mayonnaise will get the job done!
What condiments go on a beef sandwich?
The best condiments that go on a beef sandwich are mustard, cream cheese and chives, chipotle, mayonnaise, horseradish, and avocado, amongst many others. It’s up to you to pick one that you believe pairs best with your beef or Italian sandwiches.
How to serve Crockpot Italian Beef Po’ Boys?
Cut hot dog rolls open. Brown butter on the stovetop, being careful not to burn it. Brush the rolls with browned butter and toast until golden brown. Add your roast beef po boys to the toasted rolls. Top with caramelized white onions, provolone cheese, mustard mayonnaise, and barbeque sauce. Serve and enjoy while fresh and hot.
Tips:
- Be generous with the seasoning. Don’t underdo it.
- Allow the beef ample cooking time. You don’t need to keep checking on it or be impatient and pull it out in advance.
- Keeping your crockpot sealed closes in all those juices, so be as detached as you possibly can.

There’s never a single way of making any recipe this tasty. Good food can be jazzed up and added to different food/menu items. Some incredible variations of roast beef po boys recipes include Italian beef, roasted loin, and shrimp.

Storing instructions
Keep leftovers in a resealable bag. Pop this crock pot beef stroganoff recipe into the fridge or freezer and keep for up to 3-4 days. If you’ve already added the beef into any type of bread, store it in the fridge and not in the refrigerator to avoid soggy bread.
Reheating instructions
Reheating these tasty bad boys is simple and can be done in different ways. Simply microwave for 1-2 minutes.
How much do these Beef Sandwiches last on the fridge?
Cooked beef should generally be used within 3 to 4 days of cooking, so we don’t recommend refrigerating it for more than 4 days. You can also freeze it for up to 3 months. I recommend thawing it properly to avoid warming up the ice which adds excess water to the beef.
Making ahead instructions
Most definitely! This easy crock pot beef stroganoff recipe is easy and requires minimal effort from you. You can allow it to cook in your crockpot the night before. Just add the ingredients to your crockpot, cook and walk away.
