Why is this a recipe that I should try?
When you have a dish that is so easy to make, takes very little time, and just a few ingredients, I can’t think of a reason you would not try it. It tastes great and even the most finicky person is going to love this dish.
What is the difference between Kielbasa and Smoked Sausage?
Kielbasa originated in Poland, it is made from pork and a variety of spices. Some might say there are some similarities between Smoked Sausage and Kielbasa.
Give this kielbasa cabbage soup a try for another great dish to serve up.
Can I use a different type of Sausage?
You certainly could! However, Kielbasa has a flavor all its own and should be tried at least once in this dish. Otherwise you could use Smoked Sausage, Turkey Sausage or Italian Sausage.
Which Potato is a good choice for this meal?
I would suggest Yukon Gold, or Red potatoes. They are starchy, but hold up well when cooked.

I just made this after a long day of work. Wow, easy, quick and delicious!!! There is vegetable stock in the recipe – I am sure that is to boil the potatoes – the directions don’t mention that. I used a teaspoon of “Better Than Bouillon” for chicken – just added to the water and cooked the potatoes. I also did my onions, kielbasa and cabbage in my cast iron skillet. Last night I did chicken thighs in the pan so I used the oil from that for the dish – yummy. It was delicious!!! Definitely a repeat for us here.
That’s great! Thanks for your feedback 🙂
