Why I love Best Ever Pepper Steak?

  • I love recipes that make my evening easier. This recipe can be prepped in the morning, and when I get home it is ready to go.
  • The combination of flavors is absolutely perfect. It smells great too!
  • I make the rice ahead of time and store it in the fridge. I reheat it in the microwave while the kids are setting the table and dinner is ready to eat in just a few minutes.

What is the best steak for pepper steak?

Flank steak, sirloin steak, or round steak are all good options for making this pepper steak recipe. However, stew meat is a good choice too!

How do you keep pepper steak tender?

One great thing about this recipe is that, since it is cooked in a slow cooker, it doesn’t matter if your steak is a bit tough. The long, low, slow cook time keeps the pepper steak tender.

Should steak be marinated or just salt and pepper?

You can cook this recipe either way. If you want to add an extra layer of flavor to this recipe, you can marinate it in an all-purpose steak marinade. However, if you don’t have time, the extra ingredients that you add will provide plenty of flavor in this recipe.

Do you rinse steak before marinating?

There is no need to rinse the steak before you marinate it or prepare it.

How to serve Best Ever Pepper Steak?

You can serve this recipe over rice or pasta. However, if you eat mostly low carb, you can use cauliflower rice or zoodles, zucchini-based pasta noodles.

ips:

You don’t necessarily have to brown the steak before you add it to the slow cooker, but the meat will look more appealing if you do and the browning will give a better flavor to the meat.

Variations:

  • Substitute soy sauce for the Worcestershire sauce to give this recipe an Asian twist.
  • Add a teaspoon of cumin and a teaspoon of chili powder for a Mexican version of this recipe.
