Not only do I adore making cheesecake because it’s one of my favorite desserts, but I also love it because it’s a fun cooking adventure. You’ll feel a sense of accomplishment when you finish making this item and enjoy the smiles you get from everyone who eats it.
What Is the Difference Between Classic and New York Style Cheesecake?
New York style cheesecake is typically thicker than regular cheesecake. Additionally, a New York style cheesecake usually has much more crust than a regular one, and some of the ingredients are different.
What Is Classic Cheesecake Made Of?
Traditional cheesecake is made of many of the same elements as New York cheesecake. For example, it contains sugar, vanilla extract, graham crackers, etc. However, traditional cheesecake is likely to have lemon juice or regular milk instead of sour cream like the New York version usually has.
Why Is It Called New York Style cheesecake?
A few bakeries in New York started calling it NY-styled cheesecake after they put their own special spin on it. One variation of the earlier NY cheesecakes was that they didn’t have graham cracker crusts on the bottom.
