Can you use low-fat cream cheese?
Yes, you can use low-fat cream cheese in cream cheese squares. However, the texture and taste may be slightly different than if you used regular cream cheese. Low-fat cream cheese is typically made with skim milk, so it may not be as rich and creamy as regular cream cheese. If you’re watching your fat intake, using low-fat cream cheese is a good way to cut down on calories without sacrificing flavor.
Cream Cheese Squares making Tips
Cream cheese squares are one of those recipes that are so simple, yet so delicious. And while they might seem like they would be difficult to make, they’re actually quite easy. Here are a few tips to help you make the perfect cream cheese squares:
- Start with good quality cream cheese. This will make all the difference in the final product.
- Make sure the cream cheese is at room temperature before you begin mixing it with the other ingredients. This will ensure that it mixes evenly and smoothly.
- Be careful not to over-bake the cream cheese squares. They should be just set in the middle, with a slight jiggle to them. Overbaking will result in dry, crumbly squares.
- Allow the cream cheese squares to cool completely before cutting into them. This will give you clean, neat squares that are easy to eat.
