Why is this recipe loved?
This crockpot lasagna recipe is identical to the lasagna I used to spend so much time making. The flavors are all there and it is super simple to put it together in the crockpot.
Can I use Cottage Cheese instead of Ricotta?
The recipe does call for both Ricotta and Cottage Cheese. Yes, you could use cottage cheese in place of the Ricotta.
Which type of noodles should I use?
Traditional lasagna noodles is what is suggested. Do not use the oven-ready type though. The lasagna noodles will not be cooked before you place them in the crockpot. Boil only until the Aldente stage. You still want them to soak up some of the juices and sauce
What type of Tomato Sauce should be used?
There is no right or wrong here. You can use plain tomato sauce or you could use jarred pasta sauce. There are some who prefer to use Alfredo Sauce.
What should I serve with Crockpot Lasagna?
I prefer to make a dinner salad and some cheesy garlic bread when I serve up this lasagna. This is a meal in itself and is filling, so you do not need a side.
What toppings can be added?
I always sprinkle on additional cheese and then parsley. I prefer not to top with too much. You could use diced tomatoes if you wanted.
How long should I cook lasagna in the crockpot?
It will take about 3 ½ to 4 hours to make the lasagna in the crockpot. You will have to check how your noodles taste to know for sure how long.

THANKS FOR PINING!
How can I keep the lasagna from sticking to the crockpot?
The easiest way to prevent this is to spray the inside of the crockpot with nonstick spray. Be sure to keep the lid on, as it will trap the moisture in, helping to prevent the sticking.
Can I make this lasagna a vegetarian version?
You can do this in two different ways. First, eliminate the ground beef and add in some additional vegetables. Or secondly, use a plant-based product for the meat portion.
How should I store this lasagna, or freeze it?
This classic dish could be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator, then just reheat it in the oven or microwave when you are ready. To store leftovers, place them in an airtight container and in the refrigerator. They will last for 4 days. To freeze the lasagna, use a freezer-safe container to layer the lasagna, wrap it tightly, before baking and place it in the freezer. When ready, remove from the freezer, thaw in the refrigerator overnight, and then bake according to the recipe directions.
