Long John Silver's Hushpuppies

Ingredients For Long John Silver’s Hushpuppies:

½ C. Cornmeal

¼ C. All purpose flour

1 tsp. Baking powder

1 tsp. Garlic salt

1 tsp. Onion powder

¼ C. Milk

1 Large egg

Oil for frying

How To Make Long John Silver’s Hushpuppies:

Step 1. Heat a few inches of oil in a skillet over medium high heat until it reaches 350 degrees.

Step 2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the cornmeal, flour, baking powder, garlic salt and onion powder.

Step 3. Mix in the milk and egg, and whisk to combine well.

Step 4. Drop the batter by the spoonful into the hot oil and fry evenly on both sides until golden brown and cooked through. Drain on a paper towel lined plate prior to serving.
