Tipsy Luck Of The Irish Cocktail

All of my friends know that I like to be the life of the party. And no, I don’t mean that I’m rowdy and talk really loud. I mean I like to bring the life of the party. As in cocktails and food! Drinks and dishes that will please a big party crowd.

We love entertaining our friends and family and having some drinks on them and like this Luck of the Irish cocktail is a must.

If providing the cocktails is your jam, then you really need to make this green cocktail recipe. I have a filling you’re going to love pretty much everything about it.

The brightly colored green drink basically begs you to sip on it. I recommend making it the first times a practice run before your party starts. Then you’ll really get a feel for the flavors and textures in this drink. Plus, I won’t tell anybody if you have a couple of before your guests even show up.

The extra fun part is you could easily remove the alcohol and added some Peach flavored soda to replace the peach schnapps. Then you will have a drink that even kiddos can enjoy. They will love the bright green color of their glass, and they’ll enjoy drinking it without any complaints.  I like to always keep something around for the kiddos, so they don’t feel left out, and adults make sure that you give the kids a different style of cup or something to separate it from the adult drinks. That way, you don’t risk kids accidentally drinking an alcoholic drink.

Variations to Alcohol In Recipe

I know you’re probably super excited to start sipping on this Tipsy Luck of the Irish cocktail. I’m right there with you and ready to start sipping on one myself, but I wanted to give you a few other options for variations as well.

  • Pineapple Slice – Add slices of pineapple to the drink. It adds a lovely texture, and the bright yellow from the pineapple goes well with the green of the drink.
  • Mint – Pebble sprigs of mint in the glass. The mint Enos will go well with the other flavors in this cocktail.
  • Peaches – Adding in some fresh peaches is delicious! It’s hard to resist anything with fresh peaches in it.
  • Lime Juice – Mix in some fresh lime juice to the drink. It will give it a burst of even more zesty goodness.
  • Orange Juice – You can swap the pineapple juice for orange juice, and it will taste great as well.

Can I Make This Into A Mocktail

Yes! Absolutely you can easily turn this into an incredible mocktail. Simply leave out all of the alcohol. Then you can drink it as is, or add in some peach soda pop. I love adding the peach pop to the drink because it’s fizzy and gives you that amazing flavor you are looking for. Try it and see what you think. I can guarantee the kids are going to be happy to drink it no matter what you add.

Toppings For The Glass To Decorate

There are several things you can do to add to the drink to make it more festive and fun. Here are a few ideas:

  • Lime Wedge – Take a lime wedge and rub it along the glass. Then dip the glass in sugar or salt. Add the drink and leave the lime wedge on the side of the glass. It’s classy and delicious.
  • Strawberry – Wedge a strawberry and add it to the glass. The bright red will look stunning with the green drink.
  • Cute Straws – Buy some small festive straws and add them to the glasses. Everyone will love it.

Can I Make This Drink In Advance

I don’t recommend making this Luck of the Irish cocktail in advance. Due to the dizziness of the sparkling soda, the drink would end up flat and not as good. It only takes a few minutes to mix, so I highly recommend mixing it right before serving.

Ingredients

  • Jameson Irish Whiskey
  • Peach Schnapps
  • Pineapple Juice
  • Lime Sparkling Soda
  • Green food coloring
  • Ice Cubes

How to Make Luck of the Irish Cocktail

First Step: In a cocktail shaker, add Jameson Irish Whiskey, Peach Schnapps, Pineapple juice, one drop of green food color, and ice cubes.

Second Step: Shake contents for 25 seconds or until the green cocktail appears to be nice and blended.

Third Step: Strain into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice. Or you can leave the ice out if you don’t want it chilled.

Fourth Step: Top off with Lime sparkling soda; I used la Croix.

Fifth Step: Garnish the St. Patrick’s Day whiskey cocktail with cherries and mint.

Sixth Step: Serve up this Luck of the Irish cocktail and enjoy the sweet and tangy cocktail.
