Ingredients:
- All-purpose flour
- Granulated sugar
- Baking powder
- Salt
- Softened butter
- Milk
- Vanilla extract
- Large eggs
- Icing of your choice
How To Make Old Fashioned Butter Cake:
Step 1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and grease the two cake pans well.
Step 2. In a mixing bowl, add 2 cups of all-purpose flour.
Step 3. Then, add 1 ¼ cup of granulated sugar.
Step 4. Then, add 1 tbsp of baking powder.
Step 5. Then, add 1 tsp of salt.
Step 6. Lastly, add ½ cup softened butter and 1 tsp of vanilla extract, and 2 large eggs.
Step 7. Mix until smooth.
Step 8. Beat in the milk until a creamy and smooth batter has formed.
Step 9. Separate the batter evenly between the two cake pans.
Step 10. Bake for 30 minutes or until browned and cooked through.
Step 11. Let the cakes cool on a rack and remove them from their pans.
Step 12. Once cooled, place a layer of cake on a serving tray and top it with a layer of icing.
Step 13. Add the other layer of cake on top and ice the top and sides of the cake well before serving.
