Are Shrimp tacos healthy?
Shrimp is low in calories and high in protein. Plus, Shrimp has the Omega 3 Fatty acids our bodies require.
What type of Shrimp should I use for tacos?
There are three options, Wild caught, frozen or farm-raised. Either of these will work to make this recipe.
What type of steak should I use for this dish?
Flank steak or Skirt Steak is what I usually use. It is full of flavor and perfect for this recipe.
How do I cut the steak for this recipe?
I suggest cutting thin strips first, then cut into cubes. The smaller pieces cook faster and remain juicy longer.
Ingredients:
- Shrimp
- Steak
- Fajita Seasoning
- Salt, Pepper, and Garlic Salt
- Red Onion
- Green Onion
- Whole Tomato
- Cheese Sauce
- Warmed Tortilla Shells
- Sour Cream
- Cilantro
- Oil
Fajita Seasonings:
- Chili Powder
- Ground Cumin
- Smoked Paprika
- Garlic Powder
- Onion Powder
- Granulated Sugar
- Black Pepper
- Salt to taste
- Cayenne Pepper
How to make these Steak and Shrimp Fajita Tacos:
Optional: you make your own tortilla or buy them. if you opt for the first option, follow the following steps.
Step 1. In a skillet add oil over Medium-High heat. Oil and season shrimp with a dash of salt, pepper, and garlic salt. Toss well.
Step 2. Add 1 T oil to the pan and add shrimp, cook for 3-4 mins, tossing frequently till cooked through. Remove.
Step 3. In the same pan add red and green onions. Cook for 1 minute just to saute.
Step 4. Add shrimp and steak back to the pan with fajita seasonings. Over low heat, cook for 1 additional minute.
Step 5. Add the cheese sauce to the tortilla first on the bottom layer.
Step 6. Then top with your steak and shrimp mixture. Finish with sour cream, cilantro, or parsley.
What should I serve with this Steak and Shrimp Fajita Tacos?
This is actually a complete meal in itself. However, you could have a selection of your favorite toppings and dipping sauces.

Steak and Shrimp Fajita Tacos
Ingredients
- 1 lb Shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 Steak
- 1 T Fajita Seasoning
- ½ T Salt, Pepper and Garlic Salt
- ½ C Red Onion, chopped
- ½ C Green Onion
- 1 Whole Tomato, or use canned, chopped
- ½ C Cheese Sauce
- 6- 8 Warmed Tortilla Shells, large Substitute with Whole Wheat
- Sour Cream, optional
- Cilantro, optional
- 1 T Oil
Fajita Seasonings:
- 1 T Chili Powder
- 2 tsp Ground Cumin
- 2 tsp Smoked Paprika
- 2 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 tsp Onion Powder
- 1 tsp Granulated Sugar
- ½ tsp Black Pepper
- ½ tsp Salt to taste
- ¼ tsp Cayenne Pepper

Instructions
