Crock Pot Chicken Pot Pie Variations

How to thicken chicken pot pie in the crock pot
Combine 1 tablespoon of cold water with 1 tablespoon of cornstarch. Stir well, then pour into the chicken pot pie mixture. It will thicken as it sits.
Why does my Chicken Pot Pie get Watery:
Typically, the reason a chicken pot pie is watery is that it didn’t get enough time to cook. It needs to cook for the full amount of recommended time to ensure the sauce is thick enough. You can also make it thicker by adding cold water and cornstarch together.
Can I use Fresh Vegetables?
Yes, you should use fresh vegetables, except for peas. Peas are best when frozen because they don’t really sell them fresh like that. Plus, you can get them any time of year.
Can I use Leftover Rotisserie Chicken?
Yes, it’s more than fine to use rotisserie chicken. It saves time, and you can find rotisserie chickens for really cheap at most grocery stores.
Another option is canned chicken. You should rinse and drain it. But keep in mind that canned chicken is never going to taste as good as rotisserie chicken.
How to freeze chicken pot pie
Place the cooked mixture (without the biscuits) into a freezer bag or container. Make sure to leave room at the top for expansion as it freezes. It will last in the freezer for 3–6 months. Thaw before reheating. Serve with biscuits, and enjoy!
How to reheat chicken pot pie?
Reheat in a saucepan over medium-high heat or in the microwave in 1-2 minute intervals, or until hot.
