The dessert has a buttery, flaky crust and the filling tastes delightful, as Apple Pie does. Apple Pie is a Classic dish for dessert, however, we do not always have the time it takes to make the apple Pie.

This is a handy dessert with none of the hassle of trying to get the pie crust perfect. If you are anything like me, Pie crust is a challenge. My pie crust ends up thick, no matter how thin I roll it. I, for one, am very thankful that I can purchase ready-made Pie crusts now.

Ingredients:

  • Granulated sugar
  • Shortening
  • Egg yolks
  • Milk
  • Egg whites

  • Small Granny smith apples peeled and thinly sliced

  • Cinnamon

  • Confectioners sugar
  • Milk
  • Vanilla extract

How to make Flaky Apple Pie Bars:

Step 1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.

Step 2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour and 3 tbsp sugar. Use the tines of a fork to cut the shortening into the flour mixture until a loose crumbly dough has formed.
