  • It’s healthy – eggs, vegetables, and shrimp all in one. Wow!

Should You Cool Rice Before Making Fried Rice?

Please do! If you fry hot rice, they’ll stick. Moisture is a killer, trust me! So, it’s best to cool them in the fridge first. The refrigerator air will dry them out and make them perfect for frying.

How Long Should Rice Sit for Fried Rice?

Let them cool for at least an hour before you start. The longer it sits, the better it will be. So, pop them in the freezer for a quicker process.

How To Serve Fried Rice with Shrimp?

This dish is versatility king! You can pair so much with it. Try one (or all) of these

  • Wrap the fried rice and shrimp in a lettuce leaf for a low-carb, high-protein meal
  • Sprinkle with some crispy bacon or prosciutto for a salty, savory touch
  • Top with a fried egg for a protein-packed breakfast or brunch option

I’ve been cooking for years. And I’ve noticed sometimes it’s the simplest things we do that make such a difference.

Here are some tips that’ll help you make this the best shrimp fried rice recipe you’ve ever tried:

  • Always use a hot pan.
  • When adding the rice, break up any lumps before stirring. This will help them fry evenly.
  • Don’t stir much. Let the pan brown them.
  • Make sections in your pan for frying different ingredients. It’ll help each flavor to shine through.
  • Use cold rice for the best results. Leftovers from last night’s dinner are the best choice.

Variations of Fried Rice with Shrimp:

Take this easy shrimp fried rice recipe to a whole new level and wow everyone at the table with these variations:

  • Mix some Cajun seasoning with the cooked rice and sautéed shrimp for a spicy and smoky flavor. Add some sliced andouille sausage, bell peppers, and celery for a classic Creole twist.
  • Cook the rice with curry powder, coconut milk, and chicken broth for an aromatic and flavorful base. Sauté the shrimp separately and add it to the rice along with some chopped cilantro and a squeeze of lime juice.

Ingredients:

  • Rice (Cooked)
  • Olive Oil
  • Shrimp (Peeled And Deveined)
  • Olive Oil
  • Sesame Oil
  • Garlic (Minced)
  • Mixed Vegetables (Frozen)
  • Egg (Lightly Beaten)
  • Green Onions (Chopped)
  • Optional: Mushrooms

How to make Fried Rice with Shrimp:

Step 1. Saute the vegetables in the olive oil for 3 minutes.

Step 2. Mix in the shrimp and saute until they are cooked through.

  • 1 lb. Shrimp, Peeled And Deveined
  • 3 tbsp. Olive Oil
  • 2 tsp. Sesame Oil
  • 2 tsp. Garlic, Minced
  • 1 ¼ cup Mixed Vegetables, Frozen
  • 1 Egg, Lightly Beaten
  • ¼ cup Green Onions, Chopped
