Do I have to use Spice Cake Mix?
This is an easy recipe to make spice cake cheesecake bars because most of the flavors are already in the spice cake. If you can not find spice cake mix or want to change the spices a bit, you can use a white or yellow cake mix. You will want to add in a spice blend of your own, whether it is a prepackaged one or your favorite homemade spice cake flavors.
You can also use a homemade spice cake recipe, just do not add the wet ingredients. Only use the “mix” part of the homemade cake.

Step 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and place parchment paper into the bottom of the baking dish
Step 2. Using a large mixing bowl, stir together the cake mix, melted butter, and egg together until combined
Step 3. Press dough into the baking dish
Step 4. Using another large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth
Step 5. Beat in the eggs, one at a time until combined
Step 6. Beat in the melted butter and vanilla until combined
Step 7. Gradually add in the powdered sugar and mix until combined
Step 8. Pour the filling over the crust
Step 9. Bake in the oven for 50-60 minutes or until the edges are firm but the middle still jiggles slightly
Step 10. Cool completely before enjoying!
