What is Alabama Sweet Pecan Bread?
Originally, this bread got its name from the fact that all the ingredients used are popular in Alabama. The name just remained as it was.
What is Pecan Bread?
Pecan bread is a dense bread that is loaded with pecans, molasses and is flavored with spices such as Cinnamon and nutmeg.
Could I use Almond flour, Pecan flour instead of regular flour?
Adding Pecan flour will enhance the flavor of the pecans. You can actually substitute flours in any recipe, you will have a slight flavor difference, but not enough to tell.
Ingredients:
- Chopped pecans
- Self-rising flour
- Granulated sugar
- Brown sugar
- Vegetable oil
- Eggs
- Vanilla extract
- Salt
How to make Sweet Alabama Pecan Bread:
Step 1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Step 2. Add 1 cup of granulated sugar, and 1 cup of brown sugar to a mixing bowl.
Step 3. Then, add 1 cup of vegetable oil.
Step 4. Then, add 4 large eggs.
Step 5. Beat on high until smooth and creamy.
Step 6. Add the 1 ½ cups of self-rising flour to the mixing bowl.
Step 7. Then, add 1 tsp of vanilla extract and ¼ tsp of salt.
Step 8. Beat on high until well combined.
Step 9. Fold the 2 cups of finely chopped pecans into the batter.
Step 10. Spread it on the bottom of a well-greased 9×13 baking dish.
Step 11. Bake for 30-35 minutes until cooked through.
Step 12. Let rest for 15 minutes before serving.

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
- Add the granulated sugar, brown sugar, vegetable oil and eggs to a mixing bowl and beat on high until smooth and creamy.
- Add the flour, vanilla and salt to the mixing bowl and beat on high until well combined.
- Fold the pecans into the batter and spread it in the bottom of a well greased 9×13 baking dish.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until cooked through. Let rest for 15 minutes before serving.
