Why I love Baked Teriyaki Salmon?
This dish really fires on cylinders. Salmon is one of the healthiest proteins you can eat. Some studies suggest that salmon is great for your bones, your brain, and even your skin’s elasticity. Beyond being a superfood, I think salmon is delicious, and the Asian flare of teriyaki sauce really complements the fish perfectly.
What goes well with teriyaki salmon?
My favorite sides to pair with oven baked teriyaki salmon are green beans (or haricots verts, for our Madames and Monsieurs!) and a light and fluffy jasmine rice. Other vegetables that pair very well are sauteed asparagus or stir fry broccoli and cauliflower. To embrace the Asian heritage of the dish, venture out east with a side dish of salted and shelled edamame! If you’re looking for a healthier starch than rice, consider a hearty quinoa.
How long should salmon marinate for?
Because this recipe contains citrus juice, I would not recommend marinating salmon in this sauce blend for more than 30 minutes. A win-win, you’ll be quicker to the best baked teriyaki salmon with this quick-marinating recipe!
Do you wash salmon before marinating?
The USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) does not recommend rinsing or washing fish or poultry before cooking. Don’t’ fret, all harmful bacteria should be removed during the cooking process.
