What Chicken Should You Use For Chicken Biscuit Casserole?

This is a common question when I share this recipe. An easy shortcut to this recipe is to grab a store-bought rotisserie chicken already cooked and ready to go. This way when you make your casserole your chicken is already cooked. You can however cook your own chicken at home. Both white and dark meat will work with this casserole. Personally, I think the combination of white and dark meats makes it even more full of flavor. Keep in mind, if you do cook your own chicken, you will need boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs to boil. Now, I will say this is a great way to use up leftover turkey on Thanksgiving. You can make it a Chicken (or Turkey!) Biscuit Casserole. Now let’s get to the recipe!

How Can I Store Leftovers?

If you are lucky enough to have leftovers or you took my advice and doubled the recipe, Chicken Biscuit Casserole is easy to store. Just wrap the leftover chicken and biscuits tightly and it will stay fresh in the refrigerator for about 3-4 days. If you want, you can even leave the casserole in your dish and just reheat what’s left in the casserole dish. I suggest allowing the dish to sit on your countertop for 30 minutes, at room temperature before baking. Cover the casserole dish with foil and warm it in your oven for about 20 minutes at 350°.
