Crispy Chicken Schnitzel

Crispy Chicken Schnitzel

Schnitzel is an Austrian dish made with meat (beef, chicken or pork) pounded thin, coated in breadcrumbs then fried until golden and crisp.

This crispy and juicy piece of chicken is easy to make and delicious. It is the perfect family dinner recipe. It is often served with French fries, but you can add your favorite side dish such as mashed potatoes or a fresh salad to make it a complete and healthy meal.

The best part of this crispy chicken Schnitzel is that it comes together in less than 15 minutes.

Ingredients for Crispy Chicken Schnitzel:

2 Large Eggs
3 tbsp Honey
3 tbsp Dijon Mustard
2 ½ tbsp Soy Sauce
1 tbsp Garlic (Finely minced or crushed)
3 cups Bread crumbs
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp Black Pepper (Cracked)
Vegetable oil for frying
12 Boneless Chicken Breast Halves (Pounded)

Crispy Chicken Schnitzel

How to make Crispy Chicken Schnitzel:

Step 1: In a medium bowl, whisk eggs, Dijon mustard, honey, soy sauce, and garlic together.

Step 2: Heat 1/2 to 1 inch of vegetable oil in a large skillet.

Step 3:  Add bread crumbs, salt, and pepper and mix together in a shallow/large bowl.
Step 4: Put chicken breasts in the egg mixture first and knead until fully coated. Then, press the chicken pieces in the bread crumbs until evenly coated. Make sure to press hard to cover all the chicken.

Step 5: Carefully and slowly place chicken in the hot oil using tongs and cook until golden brown.

Step 6: Place the fried chicken on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
