Ingredients:

  • Grands Jr. Flaky biscuits
  • Ground breakfast sausage
  • Shredded cheddar cheese

Ingredient Notes & Substitutions

Shredded cheddar cheese: If you are lactose intolerant, you may want to remove the shredded cheese from the recipe or replace it with a dairy-free alternative. Not a fan of cheddar cheese? Try replacing it with shredded Parmesan or another hard cheese of your choice. You can use cheese blends such as an Italian cheese blend or a Mexican cheese blend, depending on your taste preferences!

Ground breakfast sausage: Using a traditional ground breakfast sausage is highly recommended for this recipe. It’s perfect for breakfast or brunch! However, you can try swapping the breakfast sausage (ground), with ground beef or ground turkey for an entirely fresh take on this quick easy cheesy sausage biscuit bites recipe.

Grands Jr. Flaky biscuits: You don’t have to use Grands Jr. flaky biscuits. However, I’ve found them to work the best for this recipe. If you have another favorite pre-packaged biscuit, go for it and let us know how it worked out in the comments below. If you’re searching for another homemade biscuit recipe to use for these bites, try our KFC biscuits or our 7 UP biscuits. Both are definite crowd-pleasers, though it will take more time to make your biscuits before you can complete this biscuit bite recipe.

How to Make It

Step 1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Prepare the ingredients while you’re preheating your oven.

Step 2. Open the packages of biscuits and peel each biscuit apart into two layers. This will make a total of 40 layers of biscuit pieces between the two packages.

Step 3. Press a layer of biscuit dough into each section of mini muffin tins to form a cup with a space in the center.

Step 7. Bake for 10-15 minutes until browned and cooked through. If you want to brown your biscuit bites, you can do so by broiling these bites for 1-2 minutes on high once they’re cooked through. Keep an eye on your oven during this process to prevent unwanted burning.

Tips for Success

For the cheesy sausage mixture to be truly bursting with flavor, remember to mix the two ingredients very well.

Storage & Reheating

Once they have cooled down, transfer your cheesy sausage biscuit bites from the oven tray to a sealed container and store them in the fridge. These biscuit bites will last in the fridge for approximately three days – but we bet you that you’re going to get through them much faster than that!

Allow the biscuits to warm to room temperature before reheating them in an oven at 300-degrees Fahrenheit for approximately 10 minutes, or until warm again. You can also pop these into your microwave for 1 to 2 minutes each!

Serving Suggestions

These cute little sausage biscuit bites make for the perfect appetizer at a birthday party! They’re also great for just about any other special occasion, but you can also enjoy them if you are looking for a bit of a different snack – ideally paired with a nice drink! Try our pineapple lemon drink or a Granita for a delicious pairing!
