What makes scampi scampi?

Scampi means langoustine which is a type of crustacean that is found in the sea beds. This is where scampi got the name. But you will find many recipes call for shrimp whereas traditional recipes used different seafood.

What’s the best way to season shrimp?

I like to season my shrimp with melted butter, and then add salt and pepper to taste. Once you do that you will then stir in the garlic and which will add additional flavor to the shrimp.

What to serve with Tuscan shrimp?

Serve your Tuscan shrimp with some garlic bread, dinner rolls, salad, or even a vegetable of your choice.

You will find this is a heavy pasta dish so having lighter sides can help transform the dish to not make it feel so rich.

What can I serve with shrimp Besides cocktail sauce?

Shrimp is such a versatile protein so you can whip it up with anything you want. I love pairing it with pasta and a creamy alfredo sauce. Or you can serve it with garlic sauce, etc.

Tips for this recipe

  • Make sure to cook the pasta as directed on the box.
  • Don’t overcook the shrimp or it will become rubbery.
  • The heavy cream is going to create a rich and creamy sauce, make sure to stir often.

Variations of this recipe

  • Add some chicken to the dish along with the shrimp. Make sure the meat is fully cooked.
  • Top with some mozzarella cheese instead of using parmesan cheese.
  • Leave out the sun-dried tomatoes.
  • Instead of white wine, you can use chicken stock if you don’t want to cook with alcohol.

How to Store and reheat this Tuscan shrimp pasta?

You will want to store any leftovers in the fridge for up to three days. You can then reheat in the microwave or warm it up in a skillet on the stove. Now, make sure that if you warm it up on the stove you add a little broth or cream to it to help keep the dish creamy.

Stir often or it can burn as well if you heat it in a skillet on the stove.

Can I make this Tuscan shrimp pasta ahead of time?

I recommend making this right before you serve it. You will find it can be made in advance but it isn’t gonna have the exact fresh flavor if you go to reheat it.

Can I freeze this recipe?

This dish is one that won’t freeze and thaw that well. With the heavy cream, you are going to find that it curdles a bit when it thaws from being frozen.
